Saturday Stu and I went to the Unfinished Nationals in Graham, near Tacoma. Had a good time, saw lots of rods and customs, and a number of trucks. The highlight was a seminar on how to hammer weld using a torch.

We took some pictures, but nothing that warrants using your bandwidth.

Today I installed new window glass in the drivers door. It was a bigger project than I expected, and took quite a few hours to accomplish. While things were apart I did some painting, and it came out pretty well for rattle cans in the yard. Here are a couple pictures.

With the windows done, I went on to installed support for dual filament bulbs and new amber lenses on the original parking lights. This took a little doing. The old sockets came out easy, but I had to modify the new sockets, and then pop-rivit them in place to make it work. Then string a little wire, and success! I hated the tractor lights sitting on the front fenders, and was thrilled to be able to remove them. Next I want to replace the tractor lights at the rear with restored original fixtures. Here are some pics of the new lights.

The other thing I should mention is that I found a seat that looked just right for the rear. Its a three person seat out of a mid 80's full size Ford van. I know, its wrong to use Ford parts on a GM product, but it looked so good sitting at the junk yard, and I've really wished I could take the family on excursions with the sub. So I bought it. It is almost too wide to fit the conventional way, and both Stu and Nicole like it turned 90 degrees. Its not bolted down yet, I had to order seat belts, and didn't want to start drilling holes until I was sure everything will fit right, but that's likely the next project, and here is what the seat looks like.
