I just discovered that the electrical system is twelve volt negative ground. Since I thought it was still six volt that was a nice surprise.

I was looking for casting marks to better ID the motor, but am still in the dark on that topic. Its clearly a 270 casting, but different sources say different things about the motor, and I'm not yet able to sort it out definitively.

Learned something new yesterday. The motor is a '60 or '61. This probably explains why I've not been able to get the right oil filter for it... I don't know that it has any other significance, except I wanted to know.
